RESOLUTION REACHED FROM THE GROUPS FOR A BETTER Y’S DOM. |
|||||||
Towards fostering an up-mobile movement and acknowledging the duty that accompanies every right, the Convention approved the following resolutions on:
A. IMPEDIMENTS TO SUSTENABLE GROWTH OF Y’S MEN’S CLUB & YOUTHS AS IT AFFECTS OUR MEMBERSHIP. |
|||||||
Ø
Lack of interesting programmes.
Ø
Inadequate idea/vision of the movement.
Ø
Lack of training and re-training.
Ø
Our
youths are too busy and after school they fizzle out.
Ø
Lack of finance and creation of awareness on club’s activities.
SOLUTIONS TO THE ABOVE POINTS.Ø Periodic fund raising programmes. Ø Quality membership and programmes. Ø Visitation of members from time to time. Ø Training and retraining of officers and members of the movement. Ø Good welfare package for members. |
|||||||
B. HOW DO WE ACHIEVE EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION IN OUR MOVEMENT? |
|||||||
Ø Through youth and adult exchange programmes. Ø Improvement on our level of Information Technology (IT). This could be actualized via exchange of internet messages/e-mails between clubs and members. Ø Brief and concise information between members. Ø Enhancement of brother-clubbing relationship. Ø Website creation by clubs/districts and regions/areas. Ø Production of newsletters and bulletins for sharing of information and ideas. Ø Exchange of personal contacts amongst members at programmes/conferences/conventions.
C. INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMMES: PARTICIPATION & BENEFITS.
On International Programmes participation and benefits, the groups agreed on the following: |
|||||||
Ø Participation could be enhanced through payment of dues, contribution to BF, TOF etc. Ø Quality membership aids participation. Ø Increase on philatelic activities (collection and sales of stamps). Ø Periodic fund raising programmes.
BENEFITS |
|||||||
Ø Breaking of language barriers. Ø Sharing of ideas and widening of club horizon. Ø Educational increase and exposure on Y’s dom. Ø Cultural exposure, awareness and brotherhood. Ø Human capacity development.
D. PROMOTING THE “Y” & Y’S RELATIONSHIP: |
|||||||
Ø Training and retraining of club officers and members as the case may be. Ø Promoting proper understanding of the mission / goal of the Y.M.C.A and the Y’s Men. Ø Regular / Joint programming creates better awareness. Ø Frequent communication between the movement and tolerance.
In conclusion, it was agreed that these resolution should not be rhetoric but should be put into action towards making a difference in our different clubs and thus being a light of hope. |
|||||||
Thank you. |
